Residential Habilitation is a home and community-based service open to any consumer who is enrolled in Medicaid or who is Medicaid-eligible, and either live at home with family or independently in the community. Each consumer is assigned a Residential Habilitation Worker who will work with the consumer and his/her family one on one basis on a regularly scheduled basis. This service is designed to develop new skills and improve on existing skills for greater independence. Some of these daily living skills include cooking, laundry, making a food list, grocery shopping, and making a budget. Additional skills include socialization with peers and strangers, and appropriate behavior in different community settings.
