Lifestyles for the Disabled is committed to enhancing opportunities for developmentally disabled adults in Staten Island, New York. Our Staten Island respite program not only allows them to relax and pursue their interests but also helps them manage other responsibilities. During this time, participants are cared for by qualified, well-trained staff as they enjoy a variety of unique experiences, both at our location and through community outreach events in the broader community.

Join our team of volunteers and make a difference in your community by participating in community outreach events. Whether you can give a few hours a week or a few hours a month, your time and skills will be invaluable to developmentally disabled adults, as well as to those seeking Staten Island respite.

Participants 21 years and older can attend these overnight experiences, which serve as community outreach events for developmentally disabled adults, all supervised by qualified staff. The group stays in a hotel or resort and enjoys everything the local area has to offer. Past trips have included a Dude Ranch, Villa Roma, and Hershey. These overnight trips are typically in-state, with occasional excursions out of state, providing valuable Staten Island respite.
