April 30 marks a pivotal moment in disability rights history—the anniversary of the Willowbrook Consent Decree (1975). Signed by Governor Hugh Carey, this landmark agreement followed a class-action lawsuit that exposed inhumane conditions at the Willowbrook State School.
As we reflect, we remember how far we’ve come—and the importance of continuing the work to ensure history is never repeated.
Every moment at Lifestyles is made to be remembered.
At The Lifestyles Greenhouse, we celebrate Earth Day—and every day—by teaching the importance of plants and insects in sustaining our planet. As our plants and flowers grow, so do we. Happy Earth Day from all of us at Lifestyles!
